I Can’t Live Without My Portable Charger

I’m going to change gears a little bit on this post, rather than my usual SEO topics. The great thing about working online doing SEO and working on this site is that I can do it from virtually anywhere, as long as there is an internet connection. But with the ability to be out of the house, another issue arises – keeping my batteries powered up.

I have had my current smartphone for a couple years now. I also am just about done with my two years of financing on it that I got from my cellular provider. Just like the old adage goes that as soon as your warranty is up on one of your appliances, that’s when you’ll start seeing some problems where you’ll need repairs, suddenly my battery life is not what it used to be.

Rather than spending hundreds of dollars again to get a new phone, I looked for options to keep my battery life while on the go without needing to find an outlet. Something that would fit in my pocket, or my briefcase, or stash easily in my car so I can keep my battery topped off whenever I’m out of the house or office.

I Love My Portable Battery Charger

I went looking online for a portable charger and was amazed by how many options are out there. What you end up getting all depends on what you’re looking for in a transportable battery charger. There are battery packs that are smaller and lightweight, small enough to fit in your pocket without much of a bulge, but you are sacrificing power. Others have a longer battery life and can replenish your phone’s battery many times over, but they are bigger and clunkier. Of course, the price for all these options ranges wildly as well.

What I ended up getting was something that I happened to see promoted for a discount on Amazon one day when I was reading about technology one day. The reviews seemed good enough and the price was right about what I was willing to spend. What I bought was a brand called Anker. I wasn’t familiar with them at the time, but reading more I found that they are one of the leading names in the portable charger niche.

I don’t recall the exact model that I got, but it was one step up from their smallest version. It isn’t small enough to stow away in my pocket, but it provides a lot longer battery life (and battery refilling power) than their lighter model. It feels like a brick in my hand and is strongly made. When fully charged, it can refuel my phone battery more than 2 times, so basically I’ve just tripled my battery life when I’m out of the house.

I ended up liking this brand so much that I bought my girlfriend one of these, and when I noticed that my phone and tablet weren’t charging as fast as they used to when plugging them into the wall with the manufacturer’s cords and wall adapters, I went back to Anker and bought a new wall adapter and super-charging cords (for my Android) and I’ve never had them charging so fast.

No longer do I have to worry about my battery dying on me, as long as I have my portable charger with me when I’m on the go. It’s a nice comfort to have and much more cost-efficient than buying a whole new phone.

Outsourcing Your SEO

Have you ever wondered why so many online business owners tend to outsource their important business-related tasks to other companies?  The outsourcing business has grown exponentially in the past decade and more and more people have realized the benefits of working with a company that has better skill and talent available than in-house teams. If you are someone who is just starting out for an online business, you don’t have to construct a full team from the ground up to make sure everything goes well with your business. Whatever skill you lack in your business, you can easily outsource it. For example, many businesses tend to struggle with search engine optimization.

SEO is everything related to internet marketing which uses complex techniques and methods to make sure that a website comes at the front page of Google and other search engines. But the problem is that there is so much competition on the internet that you simply can’t go wrong with SEO. So if you are new and you are trying to experiment with SEO, know that your efforts may not produce results because SEO is a tough field and requires a lot of experience and skill to pull off. In situations like this, outsourcing your search engine optimization is the best choice.

If you are not convinced, just sit down and think how much time and effort have you spent on SEO in the past month and what have been the results? Chances are that you’ll find a disappointing answer to this question because like mentioned above, SEO is not simple and easy as it sounds. So why not let someone else who is an expert in the field, like Dominate with SEO a Minnesota based agency, take care of the technical stuff while you work on the other prospects of your business such as planning ahead, design and development. Letting someone else handle the SEO of your website will save you hours and hours of time and frustration.

Another great thing about outsourcing SEO is that it is quite affordable when compared to making your team in-house. Hiring talent that is good for your business will likely cost you tons of money and you’ll keep increasing that cost as the time goes by. With an SEO company on the back, you can easily sign a contract with them to work for a long time under a fixed package. You won’t even have to hire talent anymore because the company you are working with likely will have their own talent available who can do the tasks like I talk about here.

Just be sure to be very communicative with the company you are working with because there will a distance gap between you and the company. This is because most outsourcing companies are based outside the United States because the talent is affordable and easily acquirable outside. But this doesn’t mean that the talent is not on par with the one you find inside your company. Good outsourcing companies may charge you a premium but they will give you a team that will surely produce results for you.

Getting Links for Your Site

If you aren’t getting traffic to your site, it doesn’t matter how good the content and salesmanship is, there will be nobody there to buy anything. I talk a lot about SEO in posts like this one and why it is important to get your site optimized for search engine rankings.

One of the ways to shoot your site up the search engine results is by building links to your site, which is what I’ll cover in today’s post.

What is Link Building?

I have a friend who works in SEO services in Cleveland, Ohio who was kind enough to take a few minutes and give a little primer for my readers on how to go about building links to their site.

Link building is the process of acquiring or forming hyperlinks from other domains that point to your domain. For instance, right here where I link to, that’s building a link to them.

That, in a nutshell, is how it works. But how do you go about getting those links from other sites? One of the ways that a lot of SEO experts are using these days is by acquiring their own network of domains and using them as link farms to send links to their money sites. They call this a private blog network, or “PBN” for short.

Buying a lot of domains can be expensive, however, especially if they are strong sites that send out powerful link juice. Another method you can use is to buy links from people who own a lot of sites. There are a lot of sites out there where people sell their SEO services such as blog posts with links. You provide them with the anchor text you want and the URL you want it to point to, and they’ll take care of the rest. The price of the gig will vary depending on how powerful of a referring site it is.

You can also reach out to other site owners that are in your niche and do a link exchange with them. In this method, you are linking to them from your site, and they will link to you from theirs. This is helpful because the search engines value links from relevant sites, so if you make a connection with someone in the same industry it can be mutually beneficial.

Similar to that, you can reach out to them and ask to do a guest post. With this, you get to determine exactly what the content is, allowing you a little more control of the link’s relevancy.

There are a number of other ways to go about link building, but the above-mentioned methods are some of the more widely used ones. If money isn’t an object, building a PBN to have at your disposal to link to all your sites is the best bet. Following that, buying links through SEO gigs is probably the next best bang for your buck, since there are a lot of powerful services out there. After that, you can go with the inexpensive method of link exchanges and guest posts.

I hope this has been a helpful guide to getting relevant links for your site. As always, thanks for reading!

What Good Web Design Can Do For You

Following up on an earlier post where I talked about how to find a good web designer, today I’ll dig a little deeper into that topic to explain why it is such an important aspect for any web-based business or brand.

How Good Web Design Benefits You

I was speaking with a friend who is involved in web design Greenville SC and he told me that the biggest thing that a well-designed website can do is connect the brand to its audience. There are a number of ways that this is accomplished.

The first thing is making sure that the site is designed for humans. Yeah, it sounds simple enough, but it can’t be overlooked. This has to deal with the form and the function of the site. It means making the site easy to use and the reader not having to guess how to get from one area to the next.

This can be done by making sure the appropriate things are clickable. It also can be accomplished by having a well thought out structure that makes it easy to navigate, with a menu bar on the top or in the sidebar that is very intuitive that any reader should be able to figure out where to go to get what they are looking for.

Aside from making it easy to navigate and having clickable items, you also need to make sure that the site is readable. Choose a proper font type and size that is easy on the eyes. Don’t go with Comic Sans, it goes without saying. Choose a typography that is easy to the human eye. If you are selling a product or service that is geared towards an older generation, make sure the font is big enough for those with less than perfect vision.

Your web design should also play to the readers’ emotions. This is done by giving your brand a personality. Have little surprises in there that would catch the reader’s eye. After they place an order, have a thank you message. Greet them with an unobtrusive pop-up when they visit the site and recommend something that you think would be of interest to them. In the rare case that a link brings up a 404 error, edit that error message to something humorous that they’ll remember.

At the end of the day, you should be able to take a look at your site, as if you were someone else (a customer or a client) and ask yourself – would I stay on this site? Would I make a purchase? Does it look welcoming and pleasing to the eye? If it turns you off, it will turn off any other reader.

I hope that these tips give you a few ideas on how to make sure your site is designed well and helps you to better connect with your customers. I’d like to thank my friend from Greenville for imparting some of his wisdom with us, and I encourage you to check out his site linked above for some truly great web design services.

Advice from a Cleveland SEO Company

Following up on my earlier interview with an SEO expert that you can find on this page, I felt that there was a lot more to explore on this topic so I brought in another colleague to provide even more tips for those of you who are looking to grow your presence online.

Without further adieu, here are some more search engine optimization tips that you can use to grow traffic and build your brand.

Cleveland SEO Lends His Expertise

A friend of mine works at a Cleveland SEO company and was willing to stop by to impart some of his wisdom to my readers. While I’ve tackled subjects such as SEO earlier, I felt we should change gears slightly on this one to take a look at another aspect of your web presence.

The importance of social media for your website cannot be understated. What company out there today doesn’t have an identity on the different social media properties such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and others? If you don’t have that kind of presence, you are lagging behind.

Why is that? There are many reasons. For one, it gives your customers and clients another avenue to reach you and interact with you. When someone has an issue or a question, they are not always going to look up your support phone number or email address. Ofen times these days, they may go directly to your Facebook page and send you a direct message, or do the same on Twitter.

Aside from making it easier for customers to reach you, it helps YOU reach the CUSTOMERS! There are so many different ways you can communicate through social media that are beneficial to your business. If you are having a sale or promotion, not everybody is signed up for your newsletter to get that news. If you put it out on your social media properties, you’ll get more visibility and capitalize more on the promotion.

If you are releasing a new product, opening a new location, offering a new service, etc., these kinds of announcements are perfect for communicating through your social media channels. Even if it is just to post a relevant meme, poll your readership on a topic that can help your business, get feedback, or anything else, there are so many different ways to communicate through these channels that help you connect with your customers and grow your brand.

Lastly, it can help with SEO. When you post a link to your site, perhaps you launched a new product and link to it in a Facebook update, that is a link to your site that is recognized by the search engines and can help you in rankings. It’s called social bookmarking and should not be overlooked.

These are just a few of the ways that paying attention to social media properties can help you grow your website and brand. I’d like to thank my friend from Cleveland for stopping by and sharing these tips with my readers – I hope it has been educational!

Getting the Best Web Designer

When it comes to running an online business or blog, you can’t skimp on the design of your site. Face it – if the site is hard to navigate, not laid out well, unattractive to look at, nobody is going to stay on the site if the user interface and reader experience are crappy, no matter how good the content is.

Today I will share some tips on how to find a web designer that will maximize the potential of your site so you aren’t losing any readers or possible customers who are turned off by an ugly site.

Hiring a Web Designer

I am lucky to have a number of contacts who work in this field, and was able to pick the brain of a colleague who is a web design Gainesville FL expert. He said that the first thing that you should do is scour the web for companies that perform these kinds of services, as well as ask family, friends, and colleagues who have used this kind of work before. Word of mouth is a very strong referral, and you can get first-hand knowledge from a trusted person who has had experience with a certain company.

You should cast a wide-net and consider many different companies, and then narrow it down to a short list of potential candidates. Don’t just pick one company and go with them, you want to make sure you are doing your due diligence and have multiple viewpoints, expertise, and price ranges to choose from.

After you have a handful of “short list” companies, you should interview them. The biggest thing that you should ask for is a portfolio of past work that they’ve done. Take a look at what they have done for others and see what the work looks like. Do they make attractive sites? Are they well laid out, easy to navigate with a nice user interface? Have they done work in the past that would translate well to the site you are building?

Another thing that you should do is ask for references. See if you can be put in touch with some of their past clients so you can find out from them about how their experience was. Were they easy to work with? Did they deliver the project on time and on budget? Were they attentive to the task at hand, or did they need to be prodded along to keep getting the work done?

After you have these questions answered, you should take a look at the pricing and compare it between the different companies. The pricing structure can be laid out in many ways, so make sure that you know every detail and what you are paying for. Basically, what is in the scope of work. Do they offer ongoing support after the project is complete? Are they nickel and diming you or do they offer a full, comprehensive package? Make sure you know what you are getting so there are no surprises.

Armed with all the above information, you can select your web design company. Go with the one that best fits all of the above and you feel most comfortable with. I hope these tips have helped – good luck in your search!

How SEO Can Help Your Local Business

If you run any kind of business that serves customers in your area locally, you’re missing out if your local SEO game isn’t up to snuff. Today I’ll tackle exactly what local SEO is and how it can help you grow your business by leaps and bounds.

What is Local SEO?

Whenever I need some help in online marketing, I’m lucky to have friends in the business who are at the top of the game when it comes to these kinds of things. I was talking to a friend recently who works at the best Madison WI SEO Company and really knows his stuff.

He was talking about how his SEO business has grown a lot through doing local SEO for a lot of clients. Basically, anybody who runs a business that serves customers in their general area can benefit from this kind of search engine optimization.

How does it work? Think of this as an example: if you had some plumbing issues at your house, what do you do? You don’t go to the yellow pages anymore. You go to Google and type in “plumber (city name)”. The people who show up at the top of the search results are the businesses that have optimized their local SEO.

What are the benefits of this? For one, it gives probably the highest return on investment of any kind of online marketing. If someone is Googling about needing a plumber, they are doing so because they need those services now. They aren’t looking it up for educational purposes. It can lead to an instant sale.

You are connecting the customer to what they are looking for, where they are looking for it, at the exact moment that they are needing it. As long as the services you provide are of quality and your pricing is in line with the customer’s expectation, you should have a new customer right away.

Another thing that it does is gives more credibility to your business. Being the top result for your particular service in your particular municipality signals to the reader that these guys are the top in the industry for that particular area. If you can’t be found anywhere in the Google search results, you are an afterthought (if even that), and the customer’s money will go elsewhere.

These things can all be handled by a professional at the search engine optimization game. They can work on the on-page and off-page factors of your site to make sure it is best set up to appear at the top of the search results, as well as get it in other business directories such as Yelp and other similar business sites.

If you are a business owner and you aren’t managing your local SEO presence, you are missing out on a lot of easy sales. I can’t overstate the importance of this. I hope these tips from Madison, Wisconsin have been helpful (click here for more tips from another industry expert), and I’d like to thank him for sharing some of his insights for my readers. Now get out there and dominate your niche!

Looking for SEO in Greenville SC?

Well, my last update had me speaking of the talents up in Minnesota!  Moving to warmer climates, I’m continuing my quest to showcase the best talents in SEO, I am now proud to announce yet another new acquaintance.  Check out SEO Greenville SC if you are in that area and looking for someone locally.  This company is owned by Justin, an Entrepreneur from the area.

Why Hiring an SEO Agency in Greenville can Boost Your Business

A lot of people think that SEO is dead today. The reality is far different. SEO is far, far away from being dead. It is only evolving with time. Many big companies even today use SEO to stay on the top of the list so there is no doubt that SEO is alive and well and more important than ever.

Link building
Link building is a powerful part of today’s SEO formula.

If you’re a business and you still need reasons to invest in SEO, read below and learn why it is the most important part of your business plan.

SEO still works the way it used to work

If you’re thinking times have made SEO disappear than you are wrong. SEO is alive and well. The only difference from then and now is that techniques have changed. SEO has evolved into something bigger and now is more important than ever. SEO is infact the only way you can tell Google and visitors that you are a business somewhere in the world.

SEO is very cost effective investment

SEO is one of those risk free investments that will always give you something back in return. Even years from now, the SEO you get on your website will live and keep providing you back the money you spent in the first place.

Search engines are the primary place where website traffic comes from. And the only way you’re going to get them to like your website is to do proper SEO. SEO will make sure that your website is optimized just the way search engines like it. When search engines start liking your site, you’ll be getting more and more of the return.

SEO is now extending beyond desktop

In a time where there were no smart devices, SEO was only limited to desktop versions of a website. Now a website has two versions, one for the desktop and the other for smart devices. Thankfully SEO has evolved to cater mobile market as well. The modern SEO deals a lot with smart phones and portable version of your website.

SEO is perhaps the biggest overlooked marketing strategy to attract more people by businesses today. They are willing to spend thousands on advertisement but no one looks at SEO. You should be more aware of how much more important SEO is in the long term. Without having it implemented in your strategy, you will be forever bound to pay for advertisement and get back nothing organically.

Minneapolis Seo Shares Take on Digital Marketing

My quest to understand and implement SEO tactics continues!  Today I caught up with a company based in Minnesota, called Dominate with SEO Minneapolis MN.  This is part of a continued series where I’m going out and meeting with internet minds on the topic of generating more quality traffic from search engines like Yahoo!, Google, and Bing.

You may recall my last interview, where I made it clear I’m taking over this SEO world, and stopping at nothing to talk to every guru out there!

You may have heard a million of times that you need SEO. You receive emails, advertisements, phone calls and various other advertisements that speak to you about how important SEO is. But there is a very high chances that none of these companies are telling you why your business really requires SEO to excel. And of course that means it effects your decision to whether you really need SEO for your business and not.

To clear your doubts, we’ll share a couple of reasons why SEO is required for a business and why you should absolutely implement some sort of SEO in your business.

SEO means high return on investment

SEO is always considered as an investment because the money you spend on getting your SEO strategy up will always return that money in the end, provided the SEO has been done properly through legitimate channels. So in other words, avoid working with amateurs or one man team for your SEO. Always go for a company that has a good reputation in the SEO industry.

SEO works 100% of the time

If SEO is done through legitimate channels, there is no doubt that it won’t produce results. Proper SEO will always give you back something in return. Most of the times it significantly increases your traffic to relevant audience who are looking for services or goods that you have on display on your website. The more relevant the traffic, the better your sales become.

SEO doesn’t disappear

SEO is here to stay. Once you add it to your marketing strategy, it will never go out of fashion. SEO done today will stay with you for years to come and over time will only return you more and more of the investment you spent when you first got it.

Everyone is doing SEO

If you’re a business using website to conduct your services, then you are already aware of the fact that there is tons of competition already out there. The reason they are doing better than you is because they have invested a lot of money in SEO. Every single business that is serious about growing is using intensive SEO marketing strategy to make sure it remains on the top of rankings list. Rankings not only bring back more customers, it also increases the respect of a business amongst people and competition.

Tom Johnston Franchise Search Engine Marketing

So as you know, I’ve been making the rounds of interviewing many search engine marketing companies. My thirst for knowledge has taken me to this Omaha marketer, this one from Myrtle Beach, and of course, how could we forget about Micah from Dallas?  I’ve really made rounds to highlight the “who’s who” in search engine optimization lately, and it’s put me in front of many good minds.  I’m honestly soaking up all this information and taking it all in.  Exciting times over here at Net Mesh.

Today, I have the pleasure to tell you about someone who does “Franchise SEO.”

I had the chance to get up to speed on what Tom Johnston Franchise Search Engine Marketing is doing, and it’s a pretty darn good concept he has there.

So, the main take away here that Tom Johnston’s SEO firm does is that they will do it all for you.  They will do your search engine marketing for you, and that includes:

  • on page seo
  • link building
  • citations
  • map optimization
  • website conversion optimization

When you own a franchise, you need to get the word out about your business.  Tom can take your franchise and do it for the entire organization, which makes your website a “behemoth” because it really optimizes everything for the entire organization.  He does this for the localized terms.  So let’s just say you are a “plumber.”  You want to let everyone know that you are a plumber in Miami, and you service the surrounding areas.

This is something that any company offering franchise opportunities should look into.  Nobody uses a Yellow Pages anymore, let’s face it.  They turn to Google, Yahoo, or even Bing or YouTube.  They plug in the desired field (whether that be A/C repair, plumbing, roofing, or any other vertical), and the area that they are in.

I do searches like this all the time.  If I’m looking for something, I go to Google.  If you are looking to hear more about this opportunity, please follow the link to Tom’s website at the top of this article.  His website is very well put together and there are numerous ways you can contact him.

As you all know, I’m far from done about learning the art of optimizing websites.  I’ll continue to hit the pavement daily until I learn it all, from the best minds on the planet in this space!
